Delivery Programs for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities & Camp Fire Survivors

The Delivery task force is available specifically for individuals who are awaiting COVID-19 test results, as well as individuals advised by a medical professional to isolate or quarantine, and have no support system. The County will deliver necessary supplies (food, medication, pet food) to the eligible isolated individual. Hours of operation Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Call 2-1-1 to get connected to the Butte County Delivery Task Force. The Delivery Task Force will close to the public on June 10th. 

Offering the delivery of up to three nutritious meals a day, made by participating local restaurants, to support adults ages 60 and older who are at high risk from COVID-19.  Meals are delivered free of charge through this program, and each individual participant is allowed a maximum of three (3) nutritious meals a daily.

All three meals will be delivered in the morning, and program participants MUST be home to receive delivered meals. Participants do not have to open the door or accept the meals from the provider, but they do have to let them know they are home. Deliveries will be completed between the hours of 8am-10am, seven days a week, including holidays. The Great Plates program is currently scheduled to be available through the first week of June 2020. Applications to the program will accepted until June 1st, 2020. Delivery services through the Great Plates Delivered program will cease on June 10th.

Eligibility will be determined by the Butte County Department of Employment and Social Services, however, individuals that may be determined eligible include:

-Individuals who are age 65 or older, or 60-64 and at high-risk as defined by the CDC, including:

*Individuals who are COVID-19 positive (as documented by a state/local public health official or medical health professional) OR

*Individuals with an underlying condition.

-Individuals must live alone or with one program-eligible adult

-Participants must not be currently receiving assistance from other state or federal nutrition assistance programs

-Participants must earn no more than 600% of the federal poverty limit (no more than $74,940 in income for a household of one and $101,460 for a household of two.

-Individuals must affirm an inability to prepare or obtain meals. Participants will self-certify.

-Only individuals who are age 60 and older will be potentially eligible for the program

-Individuals have to be residing in BUTTE County.

Individuals interested in the program can now submit their information directly to the County, who will make the final decision on their eligibility for the Great Plates program. The County will cease accepting applications on June 1st, 2020.

Offering prepared to-go meals for seniors available for weekly pick-up at local participating senior centers. For seniors ages 60 and older. Suggested donation of $2.50 or sliding scale for each meal. To-Go Meals are distributed at locations in Chico, Oroville, and Gridley at participating senior centers.

Intake by phone, individuals interested in picking up to-go meals will complete intake process outlined below:

Paradise Adventist Church, in partnership with Love Paradise, is offering a grocery assistance and delivery program for Camp Fire survivors affected by the COVID-19 crisis. This service is free and requires registration. No fee for grocery assistance and delivery services (under $50). Please Note: If grocery bill goes over $50, Camp Fire Survivors must pay the difference.

Please Note: Camp Fire survivors may access the Love Delivers program twice per month for grocery assistance. However, if a survivor would like access to free-delivery, Love Delivery may accommodate that service once per week. Holiday Market is willing to accept CalFresh for the amount above $50, however, Camp Fire survivors must go to the store themselves to complete the transaction.

Offering free deliveries of groceries and other basic needs for elders, disabled, or those with other health issues. Chico DSA will help get groceries, prescriptions or other supplies needed to stay safe during the COVID-19 outbreak. All deliveries are ‘no contact’ deliveries, with groceries and other basic needs supplies delivered to curbside/doorstep.
The cost of groceries is not covered through the service, however, free or subsidized groceries are also available as donations permit. The availability of free groceries is entirely dependent on donations and is not guaranteed. Hours of availability vary, deliveries are typically scheduled in the afternoon.

No fee for delivery. Cost of groceries or supplies is based on grocery receipts, and payment by cash, card, or check is available; however, Venmo or Paypal is the preferred method of payment as it does not require any contact. Assistance with setting up Venmo is available for those who need it by phone.

Offering a request form focused on assisting those affected by COVID-19. The North Valley Mutual Aid request form provides a list of possible services including: Deliveries (of groceries, medicine and other essentials), transportation, home-cooked meals and meal preparation, and more. For individuals located in Butte County/North Valley area affected by COVID-19 in need of assistance.

Provides the elderly and other homebound individuals with nutritious, balanced meals delivered to their homes. Serves meals to clients in Chico, Paradise, Magalia, and Durham. For elderly and homebound individuals, please call for further eligibility, application, and information.

Set fees/sliding scale. Those unable to pay the full cost of the meal are subsidized according to their income. Meals cost $5.25 per meal billed to the client at the end of the month.

Provides home delivered nutritious meals to homebound seniors. For homebound adult seniors age 60 and older living in Orland or Willows. There is a suggested donation of $3.00 per meal, however, no one will be turned away due to inability to pay.

A community outreach program organized by The Hatchet House providing assistance to vulnerable members of the community impacted by COVID-19. Program is for Chico residents who are immunocompromised or 60 years of age or older. Once an order is placed, groceries are sanitized and packaged for delivery.

Each shopping bag will contain at least 5 items from the list. Notifications are sent out once the packages are ready and once the volunteer has arrived. Once a volunteer knocks on the door, Keep Chico Healthy requests that individuals wait 30-60 seconds before opening the door to create a safe distance between the volunteer and the recipient.

Delivery Services for General Public

Offering meal deliveries (Chico only for now) or pick ups twice a week, Mondays and Thursdays. Shelley’s Creative Catering will provide 3 meal options and one soup, per menu. Meals will be fully cooked and in to-go boxes or containers, ready to heat and serve or refrigerate.

There are 3 meal options available for each menu date. Meals are available for pick-up or delivery each Monday & Thursday. Orders must be made by 3:00pm the day before delivery/pick-up date. Served cold, ready for heat up.

All meals are $12 per meal, delivery fee is $5 per delivery.

For delivery: Select the dated $5 Delivery button and add to cart prior to checkout. Food will be delivered between 3pm-6pm on specified date. (Please note: Food will be left at the door.)

Service Description: Offering grocery/supply/food delivery services to residents of Oroville. Fees vary depending on the distance of the delivery. (Fees will be based on the standard cab fare it would take to drive from the grocery store/restaurant to the individual’s home) Hours vary. Individuals will place their order at a grocery store/restaurant/place of business and pay over the phone. Individuals will mention that a Yellow Cab driver will pick up their order. Individuals will contact Yellow Cab of Oroville at (530) 532-3333 and request delivery service. Delivery fee will be paid for upon completion of the Yellow Cab delivery.

Please note: Deliveries may be dropped off at the resident’s door if the delivery fee is paid through credit card.

Offering online grocery/supply shopping and deliveries to individual households.
Shoppers will select their items on Instacart, and then have the option to set up a delivery schedule where groceries/supplies may be delivered within the day or later during the week. Shoppers may also select the “Pickup option” where individuals will shop on Instacart, choose a pickup time, and pick up their groceries at the store. (This options is only available at select locations.)

Orders must meet a $10.00 minimum purchase.  $2.00 service fee for delivery/pickup (sales tax not included)

Offering free delivery on qualifying orders. Free delivery excludes photo products/services. No fee for packages under 20 pounds. Packages weighing over 20 pounds are subject to a $0.05 cent shipping fee for every 1/10 of a pound over 20 pounds.

Curbside Pick-Up Information

The Boys & Girls Club of the North Valley will provide drive-thru meals for all children 18 years of age or younger during the week of 5/26-5/29. All meals will be served on a first come first serve basis. The Boys and Girls Club of North Valley has partnered with the North State Food Bank to provide fresh bags of produce for pickup. To ensure the safety and well-being of each other and the families served, The Boys & Girls Club of the North Valley will be following all Butte County Public Health food service/CA food handlers regulations. Staff will be taking extra precautions by wearing masks during the preparation, cooking and service of food. Please note, the last day of the drive thru distribution is set for Friday, June 5th.

Offering pull-up curbside service and free delivery on orders over $25 during normal business hours for customers who want to limit their exposure to public spaces. Deliveries are only offered in Chico.

Customers may pull up to one of the parking spaces in front of the store and honk once. Staff will then come out to their car to provide assistance and finish the transaction.
